Treehouse Customer Testimonial Workplace Productivity The following workplace productivity testimonial was provided to AGILEAN by Janis Avery, Executive Director of Treehouse. Treehouse is a non-profit fulfilling the wants, hopes, and dreams of foster children throughout Washington State's King County. # # # # “Thank you for the contribution of your invaluable consulting and training time to Treehouse. From your first training in the value stream mapping workshop with the Little Wishes staff, you have inspired a new level of staff investment in efficiency. "Treehouse staff have always been dedicated to the children we serve. That dedication translates to long length of service to the agency and tremendous pride in helping children. Every year, staff think through processes and outcomes and attempt to improve the efficiency of the organization in order to deliver the greatest benefit to children at the least cost. "After attending your workshop on value stream mapping, the Little Wishes group figured out how to reduce their staffing total by 1.5, a 20% reduction. When a larger group of staff was invited to come to a value stream mapping workshop, one 7-year staff person said in a spontaneous testimonial, "We've been working on making Little Wishes more efficient every year that I've been here and I thought we were doing things the best we could. This workshop showed me ways to improve our processes that will really save time." "Since that time, this work group responded to an overall initiative to reduce costs by proposing to consolidate their workstations next to a related group. They recognized opportunities to respond to high seasons in each work group by redefining their work role from a Little Wishes staff person to an Enrichment Specialist. Now, two programs will come together in one location and share four staff people who are each completely cross trained to perform the other's functions while having a particular specialty of their own.
