Lean Continuous  Improvement

The following workplace productivity testimonial was provided to AGILEAN by George Mosier of Barron Heating & Air Conditioning.

“BARRON HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING has been serving the heating and home comfort needs of Northwest Washington residents since 1972.  In addition to designing, installing and servicing heating and air conditioning systems for both residential and commercial customers, Barron’s showrooms offer a great selection of spas and accessories, along with dozens of beautifully displayed burning models of gas, wood and pellet stoves and fireplaces.

“Barron has been experiencing rapid growth in our markets.  We differentiate ourselves from our competition by providing an unparalleled level of service to our customers.  Our employees make the difference by constantly looking for innovative new ways to exceed customer expectations.

“As we grew, innovations in our products and services were beginning to be hampered by our existing business model.  We were reaching the limit of what could be accomplished by processes and procedures that were developed years ago.   It was time to apply our ability to innovate internally to how we did business.

“Barron turned to Washington Manufacturing Services (WMS) to learn more about an approach known as Lean Office that has helped organizations innovate their business models.   WMS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping Washington State companies be more competitive.

“WMS introduced us to their partner, AGILEAN Corporation, a leader in the application of Lean Office techniques.  Through WMS, AGILEAN first conducted a training class for Barron employees on Lean Office.   AGILEAN then led an employee team through two days of workshops to: 1) map our current state processes, 2) develop an innovative future state using Lean Office principles, and 3) establish a continuous improvement approach for bridging the two.

“AGILEAN opened our eyes to the benefits of adopting a Lean continuous improvement program.  As a result, our employees are now engaged in finding innovative ways to make our business model better every day.”
