Value Stream Mapping |
Where's the Waste? AGILEAN delivers professional services to engage employees in the everyday removal of information waste. Waste is defined as any information that does not directly provide value to an internal or external customer. Motivating employees to remove information waste, not only impacts both the top and bottom lines, it also increases employee morale and job satisfaction. Rather than being frustrated by the information waste surrounding them, employees are empowered to do something about it. AGILEAN helps organizations establish Where is the Waste programs. Employees are trained on how to identify the seven types of information wastes and given the means to report them. A Where's the Waste engagement includes an initial pilot to help tune the program to the organization's culture, and typically takes two to four calendar weeks, depending on complexity. Benefits Waste reduction enhances the quality of information and therefore the quality of an organization's products and services. Many times quality is merely defined as an error or defect. With this definition, improving quality means focusing on making fewer errors, rather than engaging employees to remove information wastes that are the root cause of most errors. Deliverables The deliverable of a Where's the Waste program implementation is a report presented during the results meeting. The report includes: Ø Definition of a where's the waste program Ø Elements for reinforcing the continuous search for information wastes Ø Management and staff training on the seven information wastes Ø Transformation plan Contact Information AGILEAN Corporation 425/877 881-0108 Phone 425/877 881-5877 Fax
